I am fascinated by the concept of time travel, and by the possibility of time paradoxes which could occur if time travel were actually made possible.  These were some of the concepts I had in mind when I decided to paint "Traveler Besieged."

This one was a lot of work, but a lot of fun.  It has two different types of texturing - a deep ceramic stucco and, in some parts, a layer of tiny glass beads embedded under the paint.  The purple background is metallic, so the colour tends to shift as you move around the piece.  The yellow/red "stripes" use a medium that causes them to appear sticky and wet, even though they are completely dry to the touch.  It was one of my favourite pieces from 2014.
