Turntable with "Maxinquaye."

This is going to be a fun event.

That's mainly our goal.

TMJ and I have agreed that we're not going to take this gig too seriously.  I'm going to treat it like a house party...  I'm not going to care too much about making everything "perfect."  I'll be sharing some great music with some friends... hopefully a whole coffee house full of them.

At the Great Gypsy Chillout, the following should not be expected:

  • Wicked turntablism.
  • Flawless, gradual transitions.
  • Any attempt to force Gypsy patrons to dance.

We're serious when we say that this is not a dance party.  We're providing a special "atmosphere" to the Gypsy with the music and lights instead of trying to make people get up and move.

In fact, I've personally determined that there are only four types of people who should dance to this type of music:

  • Strippers.
  • Belly dancers.
  • Drunk chicks (or sober chicks, for that matter) who want to dance like strippers.
  • Drunk chicks (or sober chicks, for that matter) who want to dance like belly dancers.

This is still going to be a major event and we are going to have a LOT of fun.

The first in a series.

I'm not giving up on dance music - not by a long shot - but I plan for this special event to be the first in a series of "chillout" events that I'll be hosting and DJing.  I'd LOVE to have lots of people at this premiere chilloutdj.com event!
